Not only that GoPro is the best-selling camera in the market, it has also revolutionized how people are able to capture and share great, fascinating moments on  a unique and more personalized perspective that were previously not possible or if it were it would entail a lot of expenses. This big difference that GoPro has done created a more captivating and interesting side of the story. With GoPro3+ innovations are made even better.

What improvements are in GoPro Hero3+?

The new design has reduced in bulk and weight that makes it even more flexible and comfortable to bring anywhere and even wear it with the use of the accessories. Changing and accessing the settings with the use of the three buttons is still as easy as with the old model, which are large and very easy to use in many type of conditions and suitable for film and sports enthusiasts. Even with the slim design, the mounting at the base remained the same, so if you have existing accessories, you can still use them.

The big update of this camera is having an improved wireless acess that is faster up to four times than the old model. With this improvement you will have a more speedy transfer and playback to your mobile device. Apart from this, setting up this wireless connection is very easy, simple, and straightforward.

As always GoPro offers great resolution quality for their videos. The Hero3+ edition adds another cool feature called SuperView. This enables the camera to capture at 1080p with a ratio of 4:3 rather than the 16:9. It makes it possible by stretching the edges of the 4:3 format where in the center footage remains in high-pitched definition while having the edges visually overlooked because of the lens’ wide angle perspective.

PROS

Black Edition:

  • A new lens for sharper video and improved image quality
  • Innovative new housing with a 20% smaller and lighter overall package when camera is installed in housing (waterproof to 40m)
  • Auto Low Light mode intelligently adjusts frame rate for varying lighting conditions
  • 4x faster Wi-Fi
  • SuperView feature that captures the most immersive wide-angle perspective
  • 30% longer battery life

Silver Edition:

  • 4x faster Wi-Fi
  • 2x faster image processor (compared to the the HERO3: Silver Edition)
  • 1080p60 and 720p120 fps video capability
  • Innovative new housing with  a 15% smaller and lighter overall package when camera is installed in housing (waterproof to 40m)

CONS

  • Door covering for the USB and audio inputs is very easy to lose since it is not attached.
  • Although bigger buttons are a plus, it is also easy for the camera to be turned on inside the bag (sometimes drains the battery without knowing it).
  • The conversion process is easy and simple, but still requires few more steps before you can edit your footage.

GoPro Hero 3+ has indeed a massive improvement in its versatility. The big change noted are from the smaller and lighter casing and improved battery for both editions. Even if the lens has been improved the quality of footage from the previous black edition was already awesome so if there is a difference it is hardly noticeable.  This GoPro is an easy choice, it has great functionality, simple, and yet it enables you to capture incredible footage.
