With this 2014 edition Basis Health Tracker, you will be able to unlock your highest potentials by changing your routine. What makes Basis different is that it will make you do something from the data provided as Basis goes farther than just data capture.

What are the key features of this Health Tracker?

The main difference (actually the only difference sought by far) between the Basis Health Tracker for Fitness Sleep and Stress 2014 Edition and the Basis Health Tracker for Fitness 2013 Model is its color and its Advanced Sleep Analysis of REM and Deep sleep. The latter feature sets this wearable-tech device ahead of the other devices in the market as its Body IQ feature delivers real sleep analysis and understands your Deep / REM / Light Sleep, Toss-and-turn, Sleep Score and Interruptions. With this feature, Basis instinctively knows  when you go to bed and wake up without the need of any buttons to push and ‘modes’ to set. Indeed, this is a unique feature of higher level of analysis that no other health tracker in the market offers.

Of course we have some days or even weeks that are less energetic than usual. Even on these days, Basis comes of help as it is designed to adjust your weekly recommendations and invigorate things up when you’re doing well and calming it when you’re not. This kind of flexibility is important to maximize your potential for the long term.

PROS

  • Elegant Carbon Steel  luxurious fit/finish in black and polished chrome color
  • Has multiple sensors that gives a clear scientific picture  of your health, tracking heart rate, motion, temperature
  • Body IQ feature automatically detects your favorite activities, like walking, running, and outdoor biking, in real-time
  • Set small goals and change daily routine through Healthy Habits system

  • Calorie counts also adjust automatically

  • Can also do wireless syncing with PC or Mac

  • Indicates workout intensity by showing sweat levels

CONS

  • Screen is quite dim

Though the price of this device is higher compared to its competitors, the Basis Health Tracker for Fitness Sleep and Stress 2014 Edition is by far the most advanced activity tracker on the market, and provides hefty and substantial information and analysis others can’t match.

The size of this tab is not at par with most of the 7 inch tablets available on the market. It is less than an inch thin and weighs 0.7 lbs, which makes it a great tab for reading, listening to music, and also web-surfing. Its size makes it easy to slide into your pocket and carry around where ever you go.

What are the features of this tab?

The Lenovo IdeaTab feels impressively strong and sturdy for a budget friendly device. Its design appears like most other 7-inch Android tablets in the market although it has a unique matte back that resists fingerprints. If you held it vertically, the slate has a volume rocker on the right side of it and a microSD slot as well as a microUSB slot, a headphone jack and power button sit on the top edge. It weighs 12.3 ounces, and its dimensions are 7.83 x 4.76 x 0.42 inches that feels light and quite at ease in our hands. Comparably, the dimensions of this tab are nearly identical HP Slate 7 and the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7.

Aside from the really impressive audio output, the rest of the features of this tab is pretty much general. It has enough to compete with other tablets in the market but not quite enough to excel. This tablet is decent enough to serve as your kid’s first tablet. It runs on a dual-core 1.2GHz ARM based Cortex-A9 processor/PowerVR SGX531 GPU with 1GB RAM. It’s a bit behind the generations of processors in other tablets. It can be sufficient for some games or a few media entertainment but not the best at it.

PROS

  • Lightweight and comfortable design
  • High quality stereo speakers
  • Great viewing angles
  • MicroSD card slot availability
  • Runs on a fairly clean version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Inexpensive

CONS

  • Not the best screen quality
  • Not too impressive performance

If audio quality beats your priorities over performance then this tablet can be your choice. All other features of this tablet is mostly average and not at much par with other devices of its class in the market.
