Most tablet displays are made up of two pieces of glass – an LCD on the bottom and a touch sensor on the top, separated by an air gap. With an air gap, light reflects off of every surface as it passes through from the front, creating multiple distracting reflections that reduce display contrast. PROS
- Absolutely stunning, and incomparably terrific image quality (like really awesome compared to other Tablets)
- Seamless and flawless integration with Amazon’s ecosystem
- Perfect for parents ( can create a profile for each of their children and choose what books, apps, games and videos they want to give their kids access to for parental control)
- The device feels nice and solid and has rubberized backing is always nice for added grip.
- The sound from the speakers is very impressive, which is really better than you would get from more expensive devices, very crisp and clean
- Kindle Fire HD has state-of-the-art dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi for over 35% faster speeds – in other words: SUPER FAST WIFI!!!
- And MOSTLY, offers a lot for the money; it’s full of ambitious features; it really does provide super-convenient access to a lot of things you can enjoy.
CONS
- Does not come with a charger and it takes hours to charge via USB. One good thing though is that if you have an iPad, you can use its USB charging plug and it works great.
- Amazon needs more apps, badly. This tablet would be very useful though if all you want is books, video, web browsing, email, and calendar. It does all this perfectly. But more choices would be nice.
- Lack of all the Google Play apps available on the Kindle. But you can find out how to add apps that are not available in the Amazon store. It is pretty easy to do and works very well with the apps that have been tried.
Overall, if you travel a lot, want your amazon content, and do basic email/web/calendar, etc… this device is totally perfect for you. Great job Amazon! Click here to buy.
