This  ultra-mobile flatbed scanner is impeccably designed to make memories last by digitizing photos, albums or even the creative ideas you’ve written in your pocket notebooks. Doxie is light and portable, runs with batteries and SD memory card which makes you able to scan anywhere, without the need of your computer.

What are the features of this mobile scanner?

Starting off with the design, Doxie Flip – Cordless Flatbed Photo & Notebook Scanner looks pretty neat, sleek and sexy. Its size is 10.23 x 6.46 x 1.34 inches and weighs 1.26 lbs. Unlike other scanners, it is cordless, lightweight, battery operated and also has a flash memory so you can bring it anywhere use it. It’s great for photos (or even those old and fragile photo albums that are difficult to scan), sketches, stamps, pocket notebooks, and coins. It has a transparent scanning window (4×6″ or an A6 size scanning surface) and a removable lid by which you can place the scanner directly on an old photo album or fragile originals so that you can scan it easily without damaging. You can see through directly on the scanning process so you would know if you are scanning it right.

This scanner suits right for artists too. Doxie is ideally intended for scanning pocket notebooks to scan sketches, notes, and artwork. The software that goes along with it makes it simple to share and organize the scanned documents. It’s the absolute pair for Field Notes and Moleskine brand pocket notebooks.

PROS

  • Color display with on-screen settings and image preview
  • Unique detachable lid offers two ways to scan, protecting originals
  • Included Doxie app optimizes scans, saves, and sends to the cloud
  • AutoStitch feature seamlessly merges together large, overlapping scans (a free software update, available by December)
  • About the size of a book (travel size), so you can take it everywhere
  • Cordless, battery-powered flatbed 4×6″ (A6) scanner @ 300/600 dpi

CONS

  • This device is not WiFi capable
  • The scan speed is not too impressive (7 seconds per scan for 300dpi)

In summary, this scanner has impressive features for a small device although its DPI capabilities are low.  If you travel a lot and scans a lot of smaller items a lot while on the go, then this is scanner is what you would prefer. But if you want to scan a larger image and one that does not run on batteries the Doxie Go is a better choice.
