Before I start to give more of this scanner’s features, let me just say that this Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner has definitely an unequaled scanning performance! Be it for your PC or Mac environments, it can scan at up to 25 pages per minute or 50 images per minute in colour, grayscale, or black & white at an impressive 300 dpi resolution. You can even stack up to 50 pages into the automatic document feeder (ADF) then just press the “SCAN” button to scan both sides of each page in a single pass. It is that easy to operate!
Furnished with a revolutionary “GI” image processer 2 inside the scanner, the ScanSnap iX500 definitely engineered to empower today’s ever-increasing on-the-go lifestyle and mobile professional. CONS
- The optical sensors on the ix500 are CIS and not CCD like in the S1500. (Theoretically, CCD is better, especially for color reproduction. CIS is better for text and details, however, there isn’t much difference compared to my S1500 which basically uses 7-year old technology. This means that probably current CIS technology has caught up with the older CCD quality in the S1500. Of course this doesn’t mean that current CCD quality is not better).
- No Adobe Acrobat XI, just the same version X as before even though XI has been out for a while now
